We Made the Mistakes So You Don't Have To
Wide Open Hat Co started the same way most hat shaping businesses do — with a love for the craft and a frustrating search for quality supplies. We ordered from dozens of vendors. We got florals that fell apart after one season. Feathers that faded in the first wash. Packaging that looked cheap the moment a customer picked it up.
After years of trial and error, we had a list of suppliers and products that actually worked. Florals that held their shape. Feathers that photographed beautifully. Packaging that made customers feel like they'd bought something special.
We figured other hat shapers were going through the same thing. So we built the source we wished we'd had from day one.

Every new product goes through the same process: we test it on hats, photograph it, wash it, and put it in front of real customers. If it passes all four, it earns a spot in the catalog. If it doesn't, it doesn't matter how good the price is — it's out.
